Recent L'Oréal Paris Releases

L'Oréal Paris have released so many fab new products in the last year or so. My favourites have been their Fibrology haircare range (blog post here), Glam Shine Balmy Glosses (blog post here) and their Skin Perfection range, especially the 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution which I'm now on my 5th or 6th (lost count!) bottle of.

I've been sent some of their recent releases to try out as well as having made my own purchases so I thought I'd do a little haircare and makeup look using some of them. First up, I'm really boring with my hair normally, it's always straight. I never do curls or waves. I'm just not very creative or confident with that sort of thing! Anyway, when I received the #TXT Wave Creating Spray* for heat activated waves on straight hair I was quite looking forward to trying it. I followed the instructions for using this product, which are 1) spray product liberally over damp hair then half blow dry. 2) Twist hair into two or more topknot buns and blow dry further. 3) Completely blow dry the hair whilst scrunching waves upwards. I found that on my hair this doesn't create really defined waves but it is advised to use tongs for defined waves anyway. I do really like the look this creates on my hair though. It really adds texture to my hair without leaving it feeling sticky and it makes it look like I have loads more hair than I actually do. I felt quite glamourous with my hair like this rather than the straight up and down look I normally have.

The Nude Magique Blur Cream* reminds me a lot of the Benefit Porefessional primer it has the same silicone texture along with a tint. I've got the shade for medium to dark skin so I was worried this wouldn't look right on my pale skin but it blends into the skin and doesn't leave a dark colour behind. It leaves the skin feeling really smooth and I think it's the perfect base for adding foundation on to.

I bought the Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation in Porcelain on one of my many trips to Boots during their recent 3 for 2 offer. It's a really good match for my pale skin which is often hard to find in the drugstore so I'm pleased with that. I find this to be a medium to full coverage foundation that will cover redness and spots. The foundation manages to feel quite moisturising on my dehydrated skin yet it has a kind of satin finish. Not dewy but not fully matte either. It feels really comfortable on the skin despite it being quite a thick foundation. My photo includes the Nude Magique BB Powder for Light Skin as I was going to use this on top of the foundation but I found that I didn't need to use it as there was no shine on my skin. Just so you know though, it's a great lightweight powder that doesn't look chalky on the skin and is perfect for setting your foundation and getting rid of any excess shine.

It's quite hard to find a bronzer that suits my pale skin but I was excited when I saw this Glam Bronze Mono Bronzer in Blond Sun*. It's a gorgeous matte bronzer, in a light tone that isn't orange at all. The bronzer is so smooth with a good level of pigmentation allowing you to subtly add some bronze to a light skintone. The compact comes with a brush and mirror on the bottom layer for touch ups on the go.

I love L'Oréal Paris mascaras, I always find they are great on my lashes. In fact, my most read post ever is a review I wrote on the Volume Million Lashes Excess mascara (here if you fancy reading). I was intrigued with the Mega Volume Miss Manga mascara* when it was released back in January but I did read a lot of negative reviews saying it was clumpy or it didn't do much for their lashes so I put off buying it. Now that I've tried it, I'm really surprised with it. I think it looks good on my lashes. It didn't go clumpy, it gave good separation, along with length and a little bit of volume. I find that it definitely gives the 'wide eyed look' it's been created for.

I picked up some of the Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks as part of my HUGE collective haul last month (link) but I hadn't got round to trying them yet when I got my hands on a fourth shade, 301 Rouge Soprano*. I wouldn't normally have chosen this colour so I'm glad I tried it as I think it's a really easy way to get a red lip that's not too high maintenance. These lip products are packaged a bit like the YSL Glossy Stains with a lipgloss style wand making the product so easy to apply. This delivers a good amount of pigmentation with a very glossy finish. I love the balmy texture as it feels really comfortable on the lips. I actually had a severe case of dry, flaky lips when I took this photo and the product hid that extremely well. You totally wouldn't get away with that with a regular lipstick! This is such a nice product and I can't wait to try my other shades now.

So that brings me to the end of my post. I've enjoyed using this great selection of products and I'm really impressed with L'Oréal Paris as they keep delivering amazing products at affordable prices. I'm always excited to see what they are going to release next. I spotted a gorgeous looking illuminator in Boots the other week called the Lumi Magique Radiance Powder and their pastel Color Riche nail polishes are looking pretty good for Spring too!

What are your favourite L'Oréal Paris products? I'd love some recommendations.

  1. I love the Nude Magique BB powder too! I'm not sure if you've tried the Glam Shine Stain Splashes? They're my favourite highstreet/drug store lip product currently :)
