September Favourites 2017

We're now one week into October and I realised I haven't done a monthly favourites post for a long time. Hopefully it's not too late to share my September Favourites with you and I'll be looking to post these more regularly again.

Over the last few months I've added some new skincare into my routine and there are a few products I'm loving in particular. The Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner (£34 at John Lewis) is a beautiful toner. I just feel wrong if I don't use a toner before my moisturiser but some can be a little drying. Not this one! It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and clean. I love all of the rose petals in the bottle as it looks so pretty and I love the smell of rose so this is very enjoyable to use. If you think this is a little pricey but fancy trying something similar, I've noticed The Body Shop have a similar product here for just £9.50.

Alpha H Liquid Gold is a cult product among the beauty community for good reason. It is amazing at smoothing out the texture of skin and helping to clear up acne scars, to name just a few benefits of the product. The Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose (£37 at Cult Beauty) came up in one of the QVC UK Today's Special Value deals, that are absolutely amazing value for money might I add, and I just couldn't resist. I love rose, as you have gathered above, and I love rose gold. This is just as good as the original Liquid Gold but I love the scent of this one and I would say it's a little less strong. I certainly get less of a sting with this one. I use this one every 3-5 days to keep on top of exfoliating my skin.

I was gifted the Antipodes Juliet Brightening Gel Cleanser* (£24.99 at Feel Unique) during my recent trip to the Fenwick Beauty Corner (see more info here) and I've been loving it. This is the perfect silky liquid to massage into wet skin and then rinse off with water. I use a flannel to remove mine as that's my preferred method of cleanser removal. This is a great lightweight cleanser that doesn't overload my skin like an oil/balm can, often causing spots, and it also isn't one of those foamy cleansers that strips the skin either. This leaves my dehydrated skin feeling clean and smooth. I also feel it is helping to keep my spots at bay too.

The next product is pretty much a favourite of the whole summer. It's the Tom Ford Sole di Positano  fragrance (£155 at House of Fraser). This is a very expensive perfume and I'll admit, I was drawn in by the beautiful turquoise and gold packaging! However, the actual fragrance is so beautiful and really quite unique. I certainly haven't came across anything quite like it. It's a gorgeous citrus based fragrance that has a hint of sweetness but also a botanical kind of scent. You really need to smell this for yourself if you're near a Tom Ford counter.

The Pixi LipLift Max in Honey Sheen (£12 at Cult Beauty) is such a nice peachy-nude toned gloss. It just adds a simple tinted sheen to the lips that goes with most makeup looks and it's simple to keep topped up throughout the day without a mirror. It's comfortable to wear, with no stickiness, and it has a fresh mint scent that I really like.

I picked up a mini of the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara (£12 at Lancome) when I was at Sephora in Barcelona in the summer. I've used this mascara pretty much every day recently and it's the perfect all rounder. It adds a bit of everything. Length, volume, separation. What more do you need?!

I'm a big fan of metallic eyeshadows so I have been absolutely loving the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Retro Rose Gold (£23 at Cult Beauty). The eyeshadow applies very easily using the doe foot applicator and it blends out easily with fingers or a brush. I find this to be very long lasting too, unlike some cream eyeshadows which crease immediately on me, so it's great for a heavy night out, especially with all of the glitter. I don't get loads of fall out with this either so I'm not left with a super glittery face when I wear this. Look how beautiful it looks on my eyes below. I'm definitely going to be buying more of these. I've seen some amazing sets of minis on the Sephora website and I'm waiting for them to get released in the UK so I can stock up!

As I got to the end of this blog post (and actually put it live!), I realised I haven't got an individual photo of the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base (£42 at Selfridges) and therefore almost forgot to even write something about it in this post. That's what you get for writing it on the fly when you're very tired! Anyway, this is one of the best primers I've ever tried! If you've got the kind of awkward skin where foundation can sit on dry patches and look terrible, you should try this. I've noticed that they are now selling smaller pots of this here for just £12.50 which is really handy if you want to try it without buying the full size. I think you can use this as a moisturiser but I only use it as a primer, on top of a regular moisturiser for extra hydration. This can leave your skin looking very dewy so might not be suitable if you have really oily skin but I recommend it for dry/dehydrated skin with texture issues or dryness. It really helps to get a more flawless finish with your foundation and it adds some extra glow.

Have you tried any of these products? What products have you been loving lately?
